We are excited to announce that the library is partnering with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to offer tax preparation services for the 2020 tax season. All library computers now have access to tax preparation software you can use to file your federal and state taxes for free! Starting February 15th, two library staff members will be present during tax prep hours to offer assistance and answer your tax-related questions. For those who would rather complete a paper tax return, the library is also offering free tax forms and instructions which are available at the front desk.
Tax Preparation hours starting February 15, 2021 Monday - Thursday 12 noon - 4 pm For the latest tax information, visit the IRS website at https://www.irs.gov/ or the Kentucky Department of Revenue's page at revenue.ky.gov/Pages/index.aspx

Trimble County Public Library is happy to announce that the library has received a Library Services and Technology Act Grant for approximately $8,500 in technology and software for the year 2021. The library will be able to provide access to hotspots and laptops for those who are looking to work on their GED, complete a college course or improve their job skills. Starting February 1st, five laptops and hotspots will be available for patrons to check-out and take to the comfort of their own home to work on education and building job skills. Library staff will help connect them to our Kentuckianna Works representative, Valerie Edgeworth and other online resources for job searching assistance. We will also help connect patrons to University Skills or JCTC coordinator, Angela Stethen, and other online resources. Sarah Karns, our Adult Outreach and Program Coordinator, will also be working on coordinating monthly workshops and programs centered on work force development topics such as resume building, interviewing best practices, dressing for success and training and education opportunities. We would like to thank Terry Manuel, Commissioner and State Librarian, Archivist and Records Administrator, Beth Milburn, KDLA Deputy Commissioner and Lauren Abner, KDLA Technology Consultant, for supporting and advocating for our library through projects such as the LTSA grant! A special shout out also goes to Juliann Adams for preparing and maintaining equipment needed to make this project successful! We are looking forward to 2021 and implementing this program to help our community through their educational and work related needs! |
